[VIDEO] RE:GENERATION: First Look + Skrillex ft. The Doors – Breakin’ A Sweat!

This is going to be epic. I’m just saying that now. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, then peep the video. RE:GENERATION is a documentary that features five of the world’s top electro artists pairing up with artists from five seperate genres, and having them make something entirely new to the music world. Featured here is a preview track from Skrillex featuring The Doors, who appeared to have gotten along fantastic from the start of the project. “[Sonny] plays his beat, all he had to do was play the one thing. I listened to it and I said, ‘Holy shit, that’s strong,’” Ray Manzarek says. I hear that some of the other pairings didn’t vibe as easily at first. The other pairings include (From Rolling Stone):

“DJ Premier to produce a classical track with Nas and the Berklee School of Music Orchestra; Pretty Lights, who did a country song with Leann Rimes and Ralph Stanley; the Crystal Method, who headed to Detroit to spend two days recording a R&B tune with Martha Reeves; and Mark Ronson, who teamed with Erykah Badu, members of the Dap Kings and Trombone Shorty for a jazz cut in New Orleans.”

The film is set for release sometime in early 2012 and is supposed to be a big part of Grammy Week. I’m stoked as hell for this and you should be too. New music from legendary artists is one thing, but we get to go behind the scenes on this one. Should be fun.
