Ella Yelich-O’Connor, better known by her stage name Lorde, has proven that you don’t need to have a lifetime of experiences behind you to write a hit song. Born in 1996 – yes, that is not very long ago for of us old balls – Lorde’s platinum hit single “Royals” is now being played on radio stations nationwide and being remixed by the likes of The Weeknd as well as a handful of other well known producers.

This time we get a mellowed out trap and bass mix from the dirty south-based producer Huglife, formerly known as DJ Slink. Here we see a stripped down version of Lorde’s vocals over a minimal snap-yo-fingers beat that slowly picks up pace while being introduced to some warped synths and bassy goodness.
