Belfast-born dance innovators Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson, known as Bicep, of London, have unveiled a serious nod unto the United Kingdom’s early rave scene, as just last week the duo dropped a new track “Glue,” ahead of their debut album release via Ninja Tune.

Unlike the high-energy rave sounds that have defined the duo and allotted their success in the UK, “Glue” is a more even keeled track that’s enjoyment lies in its easy-going deliverance. It’s a track that sets Bicep apart from its UK counterparts, demonstrating the two’s successful knack for slowing things down and delivering a tranquil tune that sticks.

Of course, the DJ duo is well versed in the scene. The two double as producers, promoters, label owners and even dabbled in the blogging realm for quite some time. Their experience dates all the way back to 2008 when they founded a blog called Feel My Bicep. Feel My Bicep, which still operates, was delivering more than 100 house tracks per week at its prime, as the two were big on crate-digging and internet devouring.

Eventually turning to DJing in 2010, Bicep’s blogging background and eventual audience of well over 100k, gave the two an enormous knowledge leverage over big-names.

Bicep’s highly anticipated self-titled debut is slated for release on  September 1 via Ninja Tune. It’s available for pre-order here.
