See, I thought they’d lost their touch. “My Party” featuring Zebra Katz, was an unmitigated disaster. I mean, one of those trainwrecks that my notes on that track were reduced to: *vomit*. “Girlfriend“, wasn’t satiating enough to make these testes want to switch up their meal plans and eat anything but meat and potatoes. Plus, “All Night” really didn’t keep any part of me up past 8pm, not even a part someone could ostensibly ride like a cowboy while I was sleeping. I slapped myself around, thinking it was just me; but no, everything post “I Love It” was such a deflating buzzkill to Icona Pop’s seduction of me.

Until now, that is. Those first few, synthy seconds of “In The Stars” shot me across the dancefloor like a sweat bead surfing ravey laser beams skittering around the club lightshow. Every few bars, I’d drop onto someone, merge my body heat with theirs by the motion of the ocean of beats and then fling myself out again for a jubilant jig by myself in the chorus. Which is to say: this track is frenetic, club worthy, anthemic, fucking goodness. If that trappy chorus doesn’t trap you in, forcing you to sing along; well, then, sir, I think you might need cardioversion…because your heart is something c-o-l-d.
