Wait for it…wait for it… Yes! There’s that juicy bit of electro classic-disco we’ve been waiting for. Sure it takes a bit over 2 minutes to get there, but it’s entirely worth the wait. Trinidad & Tobago resident producers Flight Facilities have taken Walter Murphy’s “A Fifth Of Beethoven” and re-edited to set their style in a mix for their first installment of mixes for triple j Mix Up Exclusives. Disco and dance abound in their edit as Flight Facilities needed an easy mix version for their chronologically ordered triple j mix.

The set (which you can find after the jump) sees them taking you chronologically in music history from 1972 – 1982 in a barrage of throwback classics and voice samples. This is the first mix in their series for triple j and a lot of research went into the mixes, which you can find out more about on Flight Facilities’ website. Definitely worth a listen, so make sure you grab the free download of FF’s edit of “A Fifth Of Beethoven” below and enjoy the history lesson.
