There was a time when the majority of the EDM world was unsure if they would ever have the privilege of hearing a new Spor composition again. Well, it would appear that Feed Me’s mysterious (and DnB-oriented) alter-ego has finally put that harebrained theory to rest. Going above and beyond anybody’s reasonable expectations, Jon Gooch has assembled a 13-track album that basically serves as the benchmark for the best in drum & bass music today. For those of you that have yet to add Caligo to your daily listening routine, you are about to literally eat, sleep, and breathe in every single note from this trendsetting production.
Whether you prefer the jump-up vibes of “Empire” and “Full Colour,” or lean towards the softer feels exhibited in both “Strange Heart” and “As I Need You,” this innovative collection of tunes is capable of appealing to absolutely anyone. While gritty DnB clearly consumes the bulk of this album, Feed Me supporters will find themselves pleasantly surprised after taking out “Like Clockwork” for a test drive. In addition to all the wonderful songs listed above, a couple of my personal favorites come to us in the form of “If You Cry” and “The Hole Where Your House Was.” One thing is for sure, Spor is back bitches! And the sooner y’all recognize that, the better.
