While Kris is away interviewing  the studs of Adventure Club this weekend at Summer Set, it’s only fitting that we get to tease that interview with a new release by the band featuring the music chartreuse  Yuna. All right, yeah, we’re not that arrogant enough to think this leak from the an upcoming a Mixify set/Superheroes Anonymous Vol. 3 has anything to do with out interview–we’re just dancing 18k jigs in our pants at the opportunity to talk to the dub-gods. Plus, of course, this new single is fucking stellar–as can be expected, naturally.

And “Gold” continues that tradition. It reminds me a lot of the ethereal chillstep sounds they crafted on Metric’s “Collect Call”, replete with the same wondrous wailing that turned that re-imagined that song’s chorus into a haunting affair. “Gold” is all about taking a barrage of ‘words that feel like bullets’ seeping into your soul, and not spending your time picking them out, surgical style, in some ill fated attempt to be free of them. Instead, “Gold” turns a steadfast face towards its enemies and thwarts them with a dogged insistence on staying true to oneself, turning your limps into a new kind of victory dance.
