2014 is shaping up to be an incredible year for the mysterious London duo Jungle – having released two killer singles, playing to sold out shows across the world, and signing to the prestigious XL records for the release of their debut eponymous record on July 14th. For those of you paying attention, I alluded to ‘two’ killer singles above. “Busy Earnin”, of course, debuted at the beginning of 2014 with a statement as loud and as bold as the horns featured on the track. And now, midway through 2014, we have the second killer single of the year from Jungle – the electronically soulful jam, “Time”. The track, which debuted on BBC Radio 1 last night, is an instantaneous hip-shaker. There is no messing from the secretive J and T, as the track blasts straight into it’s immediate bass groove. Coupled with J and T’s sweet, soulful harmonies and hooks that nestle in the brain like hungry, burrowing earworms, this is a track that will be played ‘time and time again’. Excuse the pun but it was entirely necessary.
