Chasing your dream is hard as shit. Don’t let anyone fool you, going off on your own and working to create something in this world is not easy – if it were then no one would hate waking up and going to their 9-5. This sentiment is extremely poignant for me today, as I just told my boss that I would be leaving the company to move across country, start my own business with my 3 best friends, and chase a dream of my own. After working my ass off to get to a position I’m happy with, I feel slightly insane to be putting in my two weeks and giving up a steady desk job in an effort to travel the world and film amazing stories. A lot of people would call me crazy to give it up on a whim, leading me to ask, “What the fuck am I thinking?”

The point I’m trying to make is to live your fucking life, no matter what. Do what makes you happy, and if something comes along that makes you even happier, do that shit instead. I won’t lie and say this hasn’t been a scary process, full of self-doubt, questions, asking myself if I’m really making the right decision. But in the end I will be creating something of beauty with the people I love most in this world, and when I think of what the future may hold I am filled with hope. And it’s with that hope that I will arm myself for the journey ahead – whatever it may bring – I am ready for it.

Chicago trio Autograf have tapped into that expression of hope both physically and emotionally with the release of their first original single, “Dream”, a tropically charged tribute to those with their head in the skies and their eyes on the prize. Success is imminent for the electronic troupe, who have earned numerous Hypem #1 spots for remixes of artists like Stevie Wonder, Lorde, Pharrell and ODESZA. “Dream” is a testament to the artists out there hustling everyday, chasing their piece of the good life and living life on their terms. It’s been a long journey, but it’s not over yet – here’s to chasing your “Dream”.
