“Take it moment by moment, and you will find that we are all, as I’ve said before, bugs in amber.” -Kurt Vonnegut

If you know anything about the band The War On Drugs, you know that Adam Granduciel’s delicate tenor and the band’s waning, americana influenced grooves are a match made in heaven. The band’s last album, Lost In The Dream, took listeners on a musical escape through suffering and eventual clarity. Their latest release, “Thinking Of A Place,” might be the band’s best track yet. Spanning a lengthy eleven minutes, the track features the characteristic fleeting vocals and waning synths that established them in the first place. The song builds momentum slowly and with purpose, never soaring too high or dipping too low.

See it through through my eyes

Walk me to the water

Hold my hand and something turns to me

Love me every night

Drown me in the water

Hold my hand and there’s something turning me

See it through my eyes

Love me like no other

And hold my hand and something turns to me

And turns me into you
