[FESTIVAL PREVIEW] North Coast Music Festival 2k16 Brings Chicago Together
As the heat of the Summer literally cooks us alive, Chicago prepares to ride the Green Line to Union Park and stomp the ground repeatedly as favored performers showcase their art. Known as North Coast Music Festival, this friendly gathering incorporates multiple genres and styles to really bring Chicago together. This is a mentality that we really all need right now; togetherness. This festival provides niche music lovers to really expand outside their comfort zone and venture into new dimensions of the music universe. With headline pairings like Bassnectar and Logic on Saturday and Zedd and Umphrey’s Mcgee on Sunday, at any given time there is a stage that is playing music you love. The venue itself is comprised of 3 main stages, a silent disco and a smaller branded stage in the center as in previous years. There has never really been an issue with sound bleeding between stages in the past and doubt there will be this year but this is something that comes up as a concern before the festival. I will not be attending this year because of Burning Man schedule conflicts but after looking at the lineup and based on my experience gong the last 5 years, it is safe to say that this year is going to be another knockout!
I have listed some tracks from some of my favorite artist picks, both local and headliners, for the this year’s lineup…
