It’s been an exciting couple of months for Gorillaz fans.

With what began as the group’s cryptic return on social media, particularly on Instagram, subsequently became an album announcement. The first in seven years.

Following the announcement of Gorillaz’s fifth LP Humanz and release of numerous tracks, the group’s since performed a live show, participated in their first ever on-camera live interview and launched a House Party VR app where fans were able to stream the album in its entirety.

It’s safe to say Gorillaz have mastered the art of keeping their fans on their toes.

And so it goes, the Gorillaz have once again delivered in the release of yet another new track off their forthcoming record Humanz officially out this Friday, April 28.

The bonus track, ‘The Apprentice’,  features Rag‘n’Bone Man, Zebra Katz, and RAY BLK.

It’s a funky, synth-heavy glimpse into the juxtapositions listeners will be likely presented on the album both lyrically and acoustically. The song is smooth yet maintains the familiar lyrical threshold Gorillaz strive for. Zebra Katz’s verse is the perfect example of this.

The latest heavy hitter differs slightly from the multitude of songs previously shared, with some of the hip-hop’s biggest names Pusha T, Mavis Staples, and D.R.A.M. in its lighter deliverance, alluding to an incredibly diverse album out this Friday.
