Taking place this year over the third (18th-20th) weekend of May in sunny Gulf Shores, Alabama,
Hangout Festival‘s 8th reincarnation won’t disappoint those seeking a sublime three days of music in perfect beach weather.
Heading off the first day of the festival, The Killers will bring their hit new album “Wonderful Wonderful” to life, as well as some throwback jams as well. Saturday is heeled by polarizing yet undeniably massive The Chainsmokers, while rap legend Kendrick Lamar will close out the festival on Sunday evening.
Those are some hugely popular, if not a little predictable, headliners- but the whole bill is curated expertly- acts like Odesza, SZA, and Portugal. The Man are all fantastic performers who have had major years, and will surely bring that energy to the shores.
Hip Hop prodigy Anderson .Paak is another can’t miss- known for lively performances, jumping from instrument to instrument with ease as he drops distinguished bars.
St. Vincent, perhaps the best live guitarist I have personally been lucky enough to perform live, is another can’t miss.
One of my personal favorites from the undercard: Hippo Campus, with the addition of live horns to their live cadre, bring explosive stadium energy to the table. Get there early to see them on Sunday. No excuses.
