Anticipation. It’s the tingle in your toes that grows vines up your throat making you short of breath. You’re strapped in and you know the drop at the top is going to be intense but you don’t really know. Getting shot into a tunnel of darkness you’re trusting that everything is going to work as planned and that you’ll be alright. You don’t think that a single rusted metal is going to shoot out the side causing your very foundations to crumble. You don’t really think about the worse when you’re anticipating the best. But, that’s really when the danger sets in. The wind is colder up here now. Nipping at your extremities the sudden realization of how much you have vested in this ride has hit. Looking below you know that the fall is going to be harder knowing that you’ve climbed it this high. The fall will hurt, but thats called tough love.

Cyril Hahn pulls every heartstring with every kick and beat remixing Jessie Ware’s “Tough Love” reminding us the vulnerability you feel after the worst heartbreak. Just think about it. The beginning of your worst was always the best— the word caution wasn’t in your dictionary— you never thought about all the possibilities. Blaming it on hope, the song launches with uplifting melodies that lead you into Ware’s hypnotic vocals grabbing your hand as if she’s telling your narrative. Then were left with Ware’s final words, “You have me crying out, crying out for more…That’s called tough love” washing out into the distance. Leaving us with the lesson that all good things come to an end. 

Switzerland native, Cyril Hahn started out experimenting with music in high school. Taking a 3 year break after moving to Vancouver, Canada, Hahn came back to music and has been killing it ever since. Cyril Hahn’s talent through his remixes really pull all the feels out.
