There’s a cool new thing going around right now where young, upcoming bands are covering Leonard Cohen classics in a project called Old Ideas With New Friends. One of the first covers in this series comes from New York duo the Cults, giving us their take on Cohen’s 1988 track “Everybody Knows.”

The track walks a fine line with a soulful yet melancholy melody that stays true to the original song yet still keeps true to the Cults’ sound. Still in the pipeline for the project are covers from members of Deerhunter, Atlas Sound, and New Pornographer.
