It’s so fun to be so goddamned young…but it won’t last forever. That line’s been beat(boxing) around with my neurons this whole week. Not because anyone here is worried about getting older (fuck, how cliche that’d be), but because eventually battling bears in your mind leaves a bucolic badness where your heart was. Suddenly being a rebel without a care, literally becomes you as the burgeoning orchards of your youth become strangled by your beleaguered nature.

WAMPIRE’s “Orchards” is all about that moment of realizing fighting against ‘insitutions which just create illusions’ needs to end tonight. When cycnicism makes that beating muscle in your chest no longer skip–only sigh–it’s time for a change.

It’s amazing how much Wampire fit into their three minutes of indie rock bliss; and STRKFR contributing a boooming, synth bassline keeps everything in the mind on point. Before you know it, this gem of a track will–like the addicting bridge–have you whistling past the graveyards of mental bears you’d only recently been facing a challenge to the death.
