With a couple exceptions, I think its been a while since I’ve seen something original done as a music video. But I have to say I’m thoroughly impressed with Walk Off The Earth in this one. YouTube has become a huge outlet for artists to use as a platform for getting noticed (think Bright Eyes, Justin Bieber, and OK Go), and the same goes for Burlington, Ontario based band, Walk Off The Earth, who just recently clocked 52 million views for their 5 humans, 1 guitar cover of Gotye’s “Somerbody That I Used To Know.” Did I mention they just released the video barely 3 weeks ago?

At first you may think it’s just a gimmick to get views, but as you watch the video, you soon realize that these guys are the real deal. Thoroughly impressive is that the whole band can really sing. I haven’t had time to get too far into their music, but you can bet I’ll be keeping an eye on these guys as they will surely put out a follow up to their YouTube hit.
