alpine - gasoline

Ever feel like the tension is so hot with someone it basically singes the air? And you know if you were just to lock lips you’d light your bed on fire in such impassioned throes it’d give that scene in Gaga’s “Bad Romance” a run for its money? Unfortunately for you, though, the other lover in this equation is so caught up in their self that they leave the potential unrequited.

And so the fire burns in your body like a self-immolating, dangerous desire. Well, Alpine seem to have one of their own experiences like that of late, and its the theme behind the breezy, new single “Gasoline”. The synths ripple like Pan’s horny little lyre, creating a constant tension in the song that feels like orgasmic breath control. You can practically feel like the singer wrestle the bed sheets, pulling on them like she wishes she could their hair.

You might remember Alpine from their amaze-balls collab a few years ago with Star Slinger, in “Icy Poles“; but the band has been quietly making a reputation on the fringes of abstract electro-pop for some time now. Give their Soundcloud a bit of love if you can and check out their new album, A is For Alpine out on Votiv on May 21st, 2013.
