It’s getting warmer and the mood is changing. It can be felt all around. As the seasons change and people spend more time outdoors, there is a certain energy outside and between people.

The perfect backdrop for such a picture can only be done by blasting some of The New Investors, one of my favorite emerging international groups. Hailing from Copenhagen, they are the official psych-pop masterminds of our time. A band who infuse a vibrant brand of pop with surf-rock and produce heavenly vocals and melodies, it’s safe to say they are unlike anyone you may have heard before. “Atún” is the first single from The New Investors’ forthcoming debut album – out in August 2015. Stream it below!

Lead singer Glenn Muller had this to say about their single:

“If Dick Dale and Arthur Lee had ever been asked to make a soundtrack for a Quentin Tarantino movie they might have come up with something like Atún. The inspiration for Atún arose when we played at the legendary Beatles club, The Cavern Club in Liverpool. I introduced our band and in a fit of playful spontaneity our drummer Kristian, from Spain wanted to greet the audience. Kristian, who is pure Danish mind you, reluctantly took the microphone while the crowd fell silent in anticipation. His eyes search the club until he sees a guy who was eating what looked like a tuna sandwich, upon which he somewhat aggressively yelled: “Tienes un boccadillo con atún?” –“Do you have a tuna sandwich?” Not surprisingly no one in the audience seems to understand the question until somewhere another guy cries in a rather desperate voice: “Pero no hay!” – “But there ain’t no!”
