We get a quite a bit of new music sent into The Sights and Sounds on a daily basis, and while we try to listen to everything, sometimes it’s tough to sift through the haze. But every once in a while comes a sound that we really dig and can’t wait to share. Based on Australia’s Gold Coast, GOVS is the solo project of Josiah Birrell. Producing all his tracks himself at home, GOVS is truly living the lo-fi lifestyle with his unique blend of indie and dream pop sounds.

“Holy Infinity” is the first taste of GOVS’ forthcoming EP, set for an early 2014 release date. A sauntering, acoustic driven piece, “Holy Infinity” begins with a stripped back sound that slowly introduces Josiah’s velvety vocals and a lush bit of trumpet that balances the steady, rhythmic track nicely.
