French mega band Phoenix hired director Antoine Wagner to direct the video of their smash hit, “Lisztomania.” But that’s not all. Following the band around for a year, Antoine has also documented Phoenix’s rise to fame with their breakthrough album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Set to be released October 13th, this 52-minute documentary, entitled From a Mess to the Masses (any guesses as to where that came from?), is only set to be released in France and Germany as of now. Hopefully we will see an English version soon. Until then peep the trailer below.

As a bonus I also present to you a live recording of Phoenix’s cover of Bob Dylan’s 11-minute closing song “Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands” for his 1966 album, Blonde on Blonde. Fortunately for us, Phoenix has shortened it down to a pleasantly upbeat 5 minutes.
