///LATMUN (v.) – TO DANCE///

//SHAMAN (n.) – ONE WHO INSPIRES//

A shaman is a person regarded as having access to, and influence in, the world of good and evil spirits. Typically such people enter a trance state during a ritual, and practice divination and healing. With each subsequent release, tech house producer Latmun is making leaps and bounds to reaching this “shaman” status.

Joe Bradley, better known by his stage name Latmun, is breaking ground with his characteristically funkadelic renditions of tech house. Both his live performances and deep discography are known for having a lively energy and cogent technical precision. Latmun’s tracks have been played by Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, and Green Velvet. The UK tech house producer has been known to capture dance floors with infectious tribal beats all the while elevating audiences further with his keen ear for technical precision; such a combination is a recipe for success.

DIGGING DEEPER

Picture the last time you left the house for a night of dancing. Vibrant lights and colors surround your peripheral vision and nearly blind you as you groove to the rhythm and flow of the music. It’s possible that you are trying to shut out the real world and leave everything at the door, maybe you are struggling with this. As you discover your sense of space and begin to come into your own, or shall I say, come into the rhythm, you begin to feel your body become looser and more relaxed. Yes, the rhythm has been there all along, just waiting to be discovered. The energy put out by the music acts as a catalyst to the energy you create yourself. Despite your brain telling you to worry and fret, the primal urge to dance, to bang the drums, to jack, has been there all along. As you listen to the music, as you feel the music, you begin to sense yourself losing control, succumbing to the primal urge to dance.

THE EGYPTIAN SHAMAN OF TECH HOUSE

Latmun

Latmun’s “Egyptian Lover” remix embodies the unique spiritual beauty that makes tech house truly spectacular, his unique modus operandi when it comes to production sets him apart from other producers. Combining thunderous bass lines with tribal vocal samples and drum lines that ooze with authenticity. His hit hats and drums are about as close to a tribal drum circle one can get within the electronic music realm. “Egyptian Lover” is both aesthetically pleasing and possesses the sort of spiritual characteristics that allow the listener to not only enjoy, but also to become one with the music. Latmun’s newest release is not simply music. It is pure, unadulterated dance.

Keep your ears open at live shows, this remix is going to hit dance floors world wide in the coming months, especially during Miami Music Week, where Latmun is making a few notable showings. May the trees sing and the leaves dance as you groove the night away to Latmun’s “Egyptian Lover”: a childhood sense of wonder and a primal urge to dance burning deep within your soul.
