Los Angeles indie rock band Foster The People rose in popularity pretty quickly. Their first hit Pumped Up Kicks enjoyed time on the Hype Machine charts and their performance at South by Southwest was also key to their success. Now they are following up their first EP with their first album “Torches,” due out May 23rd. I was a huge fan of Pumped Up Kicks and from what I’ve heard from their upcoming album, I am not going to be disappointed. As of writing, Call It What You Want is #2 on the Hype Machine charts. I can’t wait for their performance at Lollapalooza this year, which looks like it will be on Friday, according to their tour schedule. If you live in Chicago and can’t wait to hear them sooner, they will be playing at Lincoln Hall on June 12th.
