Madilyn Bailey Puts Together The Pieces For A Pop Hit In “Tetris”

Wisconsin-native Madilyn Bailey made a name for herself on YouTube with her covers of popular hits such as Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy and Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive.

Her cover of David Guetta and Sia‘s hit Titanium has garnered over 91 million views to date and was a hit in France! More recently, a pair of South Korean figure skaters danced to her cover of Despacito during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Talk about exposure!

Since 2016 she has been releasing original material, which brings us to Tetris: a song she says is “about how two completely different people with completely different back grounds, quirks, passions AKA “shapes” can come together to make one beautiful picture.” In other words, when opposites attract and form a well-functioning relationship!

This, of course, does not mean that Madilyn is singing strictly about a romantic relationship between a man and a woman. Life often throws us into many different scenarios and relationships which often means that the possibilities for opposite and different ideas to come together and form something amazing can be endless; we just have to stay open!

The song’s beautiful visual starts by focusing on the male-female/relationship interpretation of the lyrics, but when coupled with opposing color that perfectly compliment each other, animations of Tetris game pieces, and even synchronized-yet-opposing dance moves between Madilyn and her partner, one can easily see that, much like the game itself, the ideas here can go on forever!
