Once the ugly stepchild of New York City, Brooklyn has taken its throne as the dance music epicenter of the Big Apple.  Among the most fundamental players in the scene’s evolution is the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, which returns to Williamsburg for its eighth edition this year on November 6th and 7th.  BEMF has a reputation of curating and hosting innovative, up-and-coming live and DJ talent for events across multiple venues, while also attracting industry icons for its interactive forums.

For those whose interest goes beyond the party to the music itself, BEMF will team up with THUMP for free panel discussions with experts and tastemakers with aim of fostering poignant discussions about recent challenges facing the industry.  That’s not to say there won’t be plenty of festivities going on outside of the serious discussions–BEMF hosted shows at 10+ venues in 2014, showcasing more than 60 artists and 30 different events.

BEMF has not announced a lineup yet, but past installations have featured  names such as Fade to Mind, White Materials, and DJ Kicks or exposing rising talents such as Route 94, Nicolas Jaar, and The Black Madonna.  Official afterparties will be carrying on far into the morning hours before and after the festival.

Limited quantity “blind faith” tickets are on sale now for only $100.  If you want a real snapshot of the dynamic and vibrant electronic dance music scene that has blossomed on the outskirts of NYC, BEMF is your jam.

Tickets on sale here, and visit BEMF’s website for more information.
