The official 2012 Lollapalooza lineup has now been released, and while rumors ran wild during the previous months, this year’s lineup is nothing short of amazing.

This year sees the return of rock nostalgia with headlining sets from Red Hot Chili Peppers and original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward from Black Sabbath. Also making reunion performances are avant-punk group At the Drive In and the Afghan Whigs. I’m also stoked for The Black Keys’ second appearance at Lolla as well as Jack White’s solo performance.

Perry’s Stage will once again be the most consistently busy stage of the festival with a smattering of rock solid producers and DJ’s. With headlining acts from French duo Justice and Swedish House star Avicii, Perry’s stage has once again been moved to a bigger location in Grant Park for this year’s festival due to space concerns. Bassnectar will also make an appearance after two sold out shows at the Congress Theater this weekend.

My top picks will be M83, Miike Snow, Justice, The Black Keys, the Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, The Big Pink, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fun., Bassnectar, Knife Party, Zedd, and Big Gigantic. What shows are you dying to see? Leave your favorites in the comments below.

Get excited people, because this year’s Lollapalooza is going to be another epic Chicago music festival. Get your tickets here if you haven’t already. See you there!
