Hot off the heels of their successful run as the main supporting act on Justin Bieber’s European leg of his Purpose Tour, The Knocks return to deliver another dance floor jam! Light and breezy on the synths but not on the bass, the catchy disco track deals with a dilemma that everyone has faced at one time or another: going against your own heart.

The trouble with you
You don’t do what your heart wants to
You never listen to it, no, no
You never listen to it, no, no
That’s the trouble
That’s the trouble with you

The choice of Ann Arbor, Michigan artist Absofacto on vocals reminds us that the New York duo have a knack for choosing vocalists that not only often have the “it” factor but also help to maximize the overall feel of a track with no less than stellar results. Although his voice is distorted and therefore easier to digest by the listener – almost tricking him or her into believing that the subject matter of the song is not as serious – it does not lessen the affect of the lyrics.

“Trouble” reminds us of the problems we may face when we don’t listen to our hearts, not in a punitive manner, but rather in a friendly, loving one. It’s as if the production is designed to lessen the blow of the often, sad truth. Upon hearing “Trouble” you may actually be inspired to do something about your dilemma instead of falling into a sea of despair. Music that inspires while dealing with uncomfortable issues: does it get any better than this?!

The single is the first offering off the upcoming TESTIFY EP (out on February 3rd) that takes inspiration from soul and gospel while exploring new sounds. It is also supported by the “Feel Good Feel Great” Tour which kicks off in Vancouver on the same day. Check out the dates and get your tickets below.
