Music connoisseurs who will be flying south to Miami in just a few days have something new to look forward to this year: Rapture Electronic Music Festival, a special one-day affair filled with five stages of house and techno in a pristine beach setting. The debut event will take over the white-sanded shores of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, just fifteen minutes outside of Miami, on Thursday, March 23rd. Rapture is set to provide an immersive experience for those seeking to enjoy music from top global underground talent in an alternative environment; fans will move away from the crowded, hectic South Beach clubs to a naturally beautiful locale where good vibes and even better music prevail.
The inaugural edition of the festival features five expertly curated stages across the spectrum of house and techno—the main stage hosts the likes of Steve Lawler, Ellen Allien, Fur Coat, andhim, and newly added Dennis Ferrer, Gaiser, and Magdalena, while the Flying Circus tent thrills with sexy clowns, aerialists and more to the sounds of Detroit house icon Carl Craig, Matthew Dear, and more. Swing by UN_MUTE for the best in minimal house, and check out the Nomad stage’s Funktion One sound system and Miami’s best local artists. If you want to find me, though, look no further than the Soundgarden & Castaway stage, where the best progressive house DJs of our time will mesmerize audiences who can dance with their feet in the sand. Catch Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Henry Saiz, Dave Seaman, and Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff together as Way Out West here.
Rapture Electronic Music Festival founders Youssef Khamis and Misha Warum talk about the appeal of Rapture to their demographic, saying “We feel that taking a lineup of this scale and presenting it in an alternative environment was an opportunity to showcase Miami’s geography to people outside the city. We even have beach access, so fans can take a break from dancing and enjoy the water.”
