The city of Chicago sure is privileged this summer when it comes to music festivals. After the Vans Warped Tour, Spring Awakening, North Coast, Mamby on the Beach, the annual Riot Fest Music Festival once again blesses the Chicago-land area with a STACKED lineup. September 15th-17th at Douglas Park in Chicago, IL you can catch acts such as Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Jawbreaker, Prophets of Rage, Wu-Tang Clan (who I’m most excited for), Dirty Heads, with more to be announced!

Out of the plethora of artists preforming there are only ten who you can expect a full set from based on their previous albums. Bayside will be playing tracks from The Walking Wounded, Mayday Parade will bring back the teenage nostalgia by playing songs off their album, A Lesson in Romantics, The Mighty Bosstones will be preforming jingles off their album Let’s Face It, and that’s not even half of the artists preforming tracks off of their specific albums. On the Riot Fest website you can discover the rest of the artists that’re replaying some of your favorite songs from your favorite albums.

World-Renowned Talent

There are so many legendary artists on this lineup it is nearly impossible to narrow down who I’d be most excited for. However when it comes to top-notch musicians – Prophets of Rage stands out against the competition like Donald Trump in a drum circle.

Members of from Rage Against the Machines, Public Enemy, & Cypress Hill joined forces to form a super group known as the Prophets of Rage. Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, Chuck D, B-Real, and DJ Lord all come together to form a this iconic band which has graced the United States throughout their tour last year.

Tom Morello is one of the most innovative guitarists of our time and has continued to push the boundaries of how a guitar is played. He incorporates feedback noise, guitar effects and pedals to distort the sound to his liking, and also eccentric picking and tapping which set him apart from most musicians. Rolling Stones magazine ranks him 40 in their list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time for a reason.

September 15th – 17th you can catch some of the most notorious artists of our time at Douglas Park, IL. Riot Fest has continued to bring an assortment of top-tier talent to the Chicago-land area for countless years and this year is no different. You can watch a full recap of last year’s festivities below and once you swell with excitement for the 2017 installation of Riot Fest you can follow this link here to snag your tickets before they sell out! Come and experience a weekend stuffed with phenomenal talent, amazing people, and stellar vibes, all immersed within Chicago’s striking city.
