Similar to the ways in which The xx melds emotive elements of electronica with the celestial utterances of Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim, the Orlando-based indie duo SALES, too, embodies a sophisticated aural presence through their own distinct marriage of the aforementioned.
With a sense of urgency and Lauren Morgan’s dulcet vocal confrontations, SALES thrills on their aptly-named new single “Off and On.”
Though the number’s not groundbreaking in terms of its stylistic pandering, the track’s an irresistibly smooth number, rife with elements of humbling human aspects. “Expecting different things/You can’t say the words,” Morgan bellows on the track, as the elements of a misunderstood commitment wash over its listener.
“Off and On” leads SALE’s new album set to arrive this summer.
