Welcome to a new weekly feature on The Sights and Sounds, the Sunday Spotlight. Each week, I’ll collect 8-12 tracks that you might have missed and put them in a shiny, new Soundcloud feature called Sets. You can listen to the set as a whole or vulture individual tracks to favorite to make your own Soundcloud library swagger. Additionally, you can send us tips on songs that you think deserve a spotlight and we’ll try to include two of them in the list with a shoutout to the sender.

This week Chrome Sparks, the solo project of the drummer for indie darlings Stepdad, released some dope electronica replete with a great spoken word intro on Send the Pain On. Swedish wünderkind El Perro del Mar released a video for the second single off of her new LP, “Pale Fire”(which is a sonic joy ride you should check out), entitled Hold Off the Dawn. Noah Gold/Magic Sword and Amtrac continue to impress me with their remixes on Wake Owl’s Gold and Para One’s When the Night, respectively; and John Talabot and Pional end the year right with a lengthy, but exquisite new look at The xx’s Chained.

French master remixers Tune in Crew released two new mixes this week, but I found their take on Tibbie Young’s Dance to the Beat the superior of the two. They even forged a new genre in the process, Indian Trap (!)–yeah, you read that right. Katy B, Geeneus, and Jessie Ware feel the spirit of Aaliyah on the dance floor, but pray she doesn’t steal their men; whereas Australian songstress Catcall releases a self-empowerment anthem from her LP, “The Warmest Winter”, in On My Own.

Brooklyn beat maniacs Chairlift start to wind us down with an Olga Bell remix of Ghost Tonight from their 2012 album, “From Something”. After that we jump across the pond for London Grammar’s devastating, Hey Now and Brolin (of track NYC fame, which lit up the blogosphere a few months ago) releases Another Year and doing nothing to deter us that in another year (oh, puns) he might just be the next Burial.

Let us know what were your favorites in the set and any you loved this week in the comments; and don’t forget to send us your tips for next week’s list.
