If you’re a night owl such as myself, you’ll find you spend a lot of time alone at your computer during the twilight hours. I find it quite peaceful, the lack of any outside distractions allowing me to focus and concentrate on the task at hand. As the hours progress, I tend to find myself listening to tracks with a distinct dichotomy inherently built into them – one that juxtaposes the high energy rhythms of the night against the subdued morning chill. Capturing that ebb and flow of energy isn’t an easy process, but Russian-born Arty manages to grab hold of that magic formula in his chilled electronic remix of London Grammar‘s “Hey Now”. The driving synths are a lasting reminder of the night before, hanging on even as the gentle rays of the sun begin poking through, it’s caressing piano melodies reminding you that a new day is not far off. As night retreats, Hannah Reid’s ethereal vocals form a morning haze that only adds to the dreamy atmosphere, created and maintained in that murky space between night and day. So go ahead night owl, press play below and welcome in tomorrow’s sunrise with the chilled vibes of Arty and London Grammar.
