Some tracks meet the verbosity of my mind and crash land into it like a syringe full of Valium. I feel knocked back into complacency, soothed–no, healed–by just the goddamn beauty of it all.  That vein of insta-Serotonin boosting songs includes the likes of King avriel’s ‘Freedom’,  SZA’s ‘Julia’, and now Zebra Safari’s remix of Lykke Li’s “Love Me Like I’m Not Made Of Stone’. Li and I share an affinity for the grandiosity of language’s power–judging  by the excellent, but overwhelming in large doses poetry that makes up the backbone of her new record.  So, Zebra Safari cuts the track with the care of an empathic electronic producer surgeon, into a couplet:

There’s a heart I cannot hide
There’s a beat I can’t deny

And the result is sparse beauty. You can practically hear the beat of a heart restarting. Now, if only I could hire Zebra Safari to strip me down to my emotional basics, too.
