Ever since I began writing here at The Sights and Sounds, I’ve made it a point to give local EDM acts the exposure they deserve. Whether it be new Louis The Child, Manic Focus, or Stratus, we always seem to be right on the cutting-edge of the Chicago bass music scene. In keeping with that tradition, the newest windy city native that I’d like to introduce you to is FWS. This 18-year-old (yes, I said 18) musical prodigy recently put his vast array of skills on full display with his new remix of Astronaut’s “Rain.” Having already heard my fair share of producers revise the original version of this track, I was worried that this FWS resurrection might bore me a little bit. Well, those concerns were completely erased in about all of ten seconds! From the motivating chord progressions to the clever vocal sampling, every single aspect of this drumstep tune is enjoyable. What are you waiting for? This music isn’t going to play itself.
