Chicago’s weather is a cruel bitch. With temperatures reaching near 60 degrees over the last couple days, it seems only rational that it should snow 17 inches tomorrow, right? Such is the schizophrenic psycho attitude of the Windy City. With sun and warmth drenching the city, Monday’s beautiful weather not only brought out the shorts and beach wear, but we also saw the summery vibes of Australia’s Night Cruise wash over my ear drums.

Bringing back sounds reminiscent of fellow countrman, Wave Racer, Night Cruise gently traps out against a backdrop of stabbing synths and hazy chords. As the name suggests, “Sunsets” is the perfect track for the beginning of a night drive, tracking toward the distant perspective as the dreary sun clashes against the excitement of the night.

“Mah Body (Say My Wat)” lies in the same vein as “Sunsets”, if not perhaps meant to take place a bit later into the night. You start by driving into the “Sunsets” and you finish in your bedroom (or some strangers bedroom) with “Mah Body”. Heavy on the R&B, Night Drive re-works Ciara’s 2013 slow burner “Body Party” into a seduction heavy trap jam that should just about guarantee those clothes melt right off.
