[ELECTRONIC/DEEP HOUSE] Big Data - "Dangerous" (ASTR Remix)

I have a love/hate relationship with Big Data. I recently got done with a 5-month long battle trying to create a brand campaign out of that vaguest of umbrella terms. After much headbanging, long nights, and gallons of coffee consumed we came out victorious, and through the process I become an unofficial “Big Data Visualization Artist”. It’s true, check it out:

So while I created something beautiful, it doesn’t come without it’s resentment. Then one day, while walking down the street on a beautiful Chicago afternoon, I was swept up by Big Data‘s thumping single, “Dangerous”, featuring Joywave. A down and dirty cut that makes you feel as though you’re walking through your own jeans commercial, and everyone recognizes your pure bad-assery. So to clarify – I hate the term Big Data in general, but I loved the first time I heard the sounds of the American electronic outfit helmed by Alan Wilkis.

ASTR tackles “Dangerous” with a different sonic journey in mind, but with a goal that has not shifted away from being grimy as hell. I’m still in that jeans commercial, but the sun has put on it’s sleepers and am now walking into a deep basement party downtown. Bouncing to the fat-bellied bass and vocal chops, ASTR remix has become my new self-imposed soundtrack for walking down anything from the street to the catwalk. Check it out below and see if it doesn’t become yours, too.
