MmmmmmMMmmm… summer, I fucking love this time of year. The concepts of freedom, beauty, and youth still ring true, however nostalgic, ingrained in me from our childhood journeys during the 3-month breaks from class. It’s during those times of naive childhood recklessness that some of my best memories were made, and while my summer playlists have evolved over the years, the musical themes that remind me of those careless times have not. Feel good, summer music has the ability to transcend the now, creating magical moments that stay with you forever – as if a piece of your heart has been ingrained in the melody, forever binding you to that special time and place. It’s during those moments that nothing else matters – not the judgements of others, not the bills, not the money in your wallet – where just being alive and in the music is the best thing in the world.

Self-proclaimed professional dog walker and music creator FWS (Free World Seppie) feels the same way. “All my life I have been categorized as the loser. Music is something I take from my heart and put it out into a beat,” says FWS. And that’s the power of music, transcending labels and stereotypes, because if you can make someone fucking dance, then you’re doing good in my book. Joey Montesano, the human alter ego of FWS, is an 18-year old Chicago producer making feel good EDM and he’s been kind enough to hand craft this sunshine drenched summer mix just for The Sights and Sounds, so hit play below and soak in all the good vibes this season has to offer.
