[FUTURE/R&B] LION BABE – “Wonder Woman”

Combine the sexy female empowered vibe of Destiny’s Child, Survivor, with a sultry-smooth Erykah Badu tone, finished off with a head bopping Pharrell induced mood (who helped produce the track) and you have the new track by LION BABE, “Wonder Woman”.

If you’re not familiar with LION BABE they are a male and female duo, Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman, who most recently supported The Roots during their North American tour. Together they bring us a unique, fresh sound that is futuristic R&B. To me this track epitomizes their style. Blending the heart and soul and and hip hop with an upbeat, funky futuristic back bone. You ease into the track with an enticing slow build to the chorus, each line pulling you in deeper as Jillian’s smooth, but strong voice evokes that kind of “hear me roar” female power – Don’t dismay guys, this one’s for you too.

With a steadily pulsing futuristic back beat I dare you to sit still during this one. I’m not saying you have to go full force, kimono-clad, hip-popping strutting around your apartment (not mentioning any names…) but there’s something about this track that just makes you want to move in that slinky, sexy sort of way. Take this track to the gym, yea, you’re a sexy beast (go ahead, tell yourself). Crank this up when you’re getting ready for a night out, suddenly you’re wondering who that fine and fierce person is staring back at you. Need a boost to get that spring cleaning done? Put this on repeat and lasso your place into shape (ok, maybe not literally – note: lasso and glassware do not mix).

However you choose to use this track, at the very least it’s sure to get you going. So…
