There has definitely been a new trend on the rise in recent years thanks to the help of instant publishing platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo that allow musicians to cover mainstream artists in sometimes very non-traditional ways. One example of this can be found in Walking Off The Earth’s fantastic one guitar cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” which nabbed the group more than 135 million views.

But there are some other very talented musicians doing some cool things and Derryck Gleaton, better known as DSharp, is definitely one of them. Mixing his love of violin, which he started playing at the age of 11, and house music, DSharp has released his Violin V-mix of Swedish House Mafia‘s “Don’t You Worry Child.” Keeping the original background beats in tact, DSharp absolutely kills it on the violin, keeping the track driving forward while making the whole thing a bit more sensual. I can just imagine this guy on the Titanic boldly playing “Don’t You Worry Child” as the whole thing goes under. Take note James Cameron.
