Mixing elements of funk, rock and electro, American group Boombox delivers their first single of 2013 with “Lost Ya.” This is the first chance I’ve had to listen to the group, consisting of producer/DJ/songwriter/multi-instrumentalists Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux (whose parents both performed with The Grateful Dead from 1971 to 1979) and I like their indie-rock mentality, which reminds me of jamming out to day bands during the summer festivals. Like the coffee I’m currently sipping on, “Lost Ya” is slow brewed for a mellow taste but most definitely not decaf. Check Boombox out below and snag the free download courtesy of TSIS.
