Indie Thursdays Vol. 1

Yes, Indie Thursdays on a Friday. I started and had every intention of finishing this post yesterday, but did not. And since I already have the header designed, I’m not going to change it now. So, here it is, Indie Thursdays on Friday. As much as I love dubstep, techno, house, and everything else; I still have to say that Indie music is my everyday listening mode. When I speak of the word “Indie,” I generalize it to a broad category of music; so all you music purists don’t go crazy on me. Included you’ll find some songs that haven’t been remixed and some that are. I think both work great together. I’ll try to keep a broad spectrum mix of some of the songs that I keep on repeat on my Ipod now.

Oh Land has been gaining popularity on the Hype Machine charts recently. The female vocals plus the amazingly haunting and catchy beats will get your head moving up and down without you even realizing it.

Two Door Cinema Club is going to be performing in Chicago in April. Can’t wait to catch their live show. I’ve had the following two songs on repeat for the last month or so, and now you will too.

TV On The Radio played an amazing set a couple years ago at Lollapalooza with Wolf Like Me and Staring At The Sun being their big hits. Now they’re back on the Hype Machine charts with their new song “Will Do.”

The garage/rock/pop group known as “The Postelles” hail from New York City. They just released their first EP, White Night, and I’m a big fan of  the similarly named  song “White Night” in that it reminds me of two great times in music, 60’s rock ‘n roll mixed punk rock.

I love Psychic City. This song has such a unique style with an upbeat mix of quirky sounds and a catchy chorus that stays in my head for days. Take a listen:
