When it comes to musical, chilled out electronica it’s usually names like Phaeleh and the ever-reliable Bonobo who instantly spring to mind. Time to add another name to that list: ODESZA. The Seattle, Washington based pairing of Clayton Knight and Harrison Mills have been making a wondrous noise since joining forces in 2012 and now drop their debut label album, In Return. Picked up by Counter Records, the sister label of the legendary Ninja Tune stable, In Return is a collection of thirteen tracks conveying multiple moods and a range of sounds. “Echoes”, featuring Py, moves along at a Dubstep tempo, the clapping snares of “It’s Only” and the uplifting euphoria of “Memories That You Call”. As we move out of summer and into the autumn, let ODESZA’s “In Return” soundtrack the season change.
