Ah, we’re back after a short commercial–I mean, sanity–break in producing these monthly lists for you all. But I promise ‘I Became a Runner’ isn’t a list that will run from your ears so easily. It’s a list that serves as a way to explore the messy, delicate, but ultimately extremely strong experiences of those who are survivors of trauma. I wanted to create a list that explores the confusion and guilt, the distancing of others and ‘burning of bridges’ and ultimately the not so clean way that you ultimately re-find yourself once the fury of the storm is over. Basically, it’s tenderness and tension wrapped in a mindfuck of a bow.
