[TROPICAL HOUSE] Hedegaard ft Lukas Graham – Happy Home (Sam Feldt Remix)
My biggest fear in life and maybe the only one, is inevitable. The loss of one of my parents. Hedegaard and Lukas Graham brought us Happy Home in 2014 taking us through an emotional roller coaster of memoirs and in my life activating the subconscious knowledge that the day would come when I wouldn’t have my mom & dad as the lighthouse of good direction. Having struggled in the past years with watching my father’s health get the best of him I often find myself just watching him, thinking about the days he taught me how to put a CD in the stereo or that afternoon he found his Dangerous album all scratched up and simply empathized with my need to recreate Michael Jackson’s dance moves on the living room floor with the help of a massive amount of baby powder and some socks.
As much as I love a song that brings out a tear or two though, sometimes we just need a happy song. Sam Feldt’s remix of Happy Home brings out the best in Lukas Graham’s vocals, capturing the emotional force behind the lyrics but giving us a melody worth our best dancing shoes. As soon as these sounds soothe you this track takes us to a tropical beach where we’ll be carrying a drink inside a coconut and sporting one of those high society pool hats and sunglasses, I can almost feel the sun on my skin. And as the vocals echo in my mind I stop thinking of the days when things will change and focus only on the love and happy home…
This new remix is to be released via Spinnin’ Records on February 2nd. Sam Feldt has done an amazing job once again make sure you follow him on Soundcloud for his latest remixes and mixtapes.
