Celebrating the Summer Solstice in Love and Unity

Think of music festivals as entities for a moment. Think of them sprouting, combusting and drifting across the landscape like a network of chromatic and electrifying mycelium. You could call these entities, if you treated them as such, the master unifiers. They bring sounds, sights, shapes, smells; crafts, crap and the creatures who create it into a dance of transmission, like a thousand games of pinball all happening at once on the same plane. They carry our ideas, and our emotions, to places too far to walk to, and too distant to see. But when it all comes around, on some weekend, preferably under the sun with a breeze to cool it down, we find these fine delights and bright notions in a cosmic soup of sweet, sweet harmony.

And with that, you have unity.

One such weekend is almost here, one which bears the light of unity not only in its name, but in its very heart and soul. It is Unifier Festival – a peaceful gathering in the beautiful foothills of the Massachusetts Berkshires.

It’s more than just a music festival; it is, in fact, as stated on their website, “a healing and expressive arts festival, a sacred world music festival, and a beach party.” And it’s all in the name of beauty.

Beautiful it will be, with a wonderful musical lineup including Hayley Jane, Yaima, Novalima, Worldtown Soundsystem, the Big Takeover, Club D’elf, Dub Apocalypse, Barika, Bella’s Bartok, and many more. In, around and between the tunes are a world of workshops and activities, including a sweat lodge, sound sanctuary, Thai yoga massages, shiatsu bodywork, and of course much more to keep the mind and body in synchronicity and good health. And in the name of good health will be a variety of local and organic food vendors, with an elixir bar and alchemical concoctions to wash it all down.

It’s also a family-friendly event, as a true community provides. With family yoga, story time…family-yoga-story-time…you’ll be able to immerse your loved ones in a safe environment to express yourselves and create, and in doing so grow together. Together is the word, and included on Friday will be an opening circle in which we’ll all join hands and welcome in the magic of the weekend as one.

Full-weekend passes are available at $180, with kids (ages 12-17) weekend passes at $50. Under 12 are free, and adult day passes are at $75.

This festival is a truly powerful piece in the realm of consciousness-expanding and spiritual gatherings that beg to make the world a better place. It’s a beautiful thing when we can come together and create the magic of music, art, and love, and we hope you’ll join us in the experience. Because we’re sure a whole lot better when we’re unified.
