TAKE A HIT AND GET LOST
With the indie pop outfit Washed Out’s first release since 2013’s Paracosm album. It seems the king of chill wave Ernest Green has returned! This time complete with enticing sounds off both the sax and ivory keys, sure to make listeners want to hit the dance floor.
The most house-reminiscent track to date “Get Lost” has been released on a new label Stones Thrown, as opposed to the artist’s previous label Sub Pop.
Washed Out has also announced a short tour set to begin in July. Check out those dates, the track’s artwork, and take a listen below. In the dazzling and meticulously crafted video directed by Harvey Benschoter getting lost is quite easy to do…
If Washed Out’s previous work is daytime psychedelia, (Portlandia theme Feel It All Around, etc.) “Get Lost’s” an expected pre-evening dance transition, one that we certainly welcome here at The Sights and Sounds with open arms.
Reddit user 11thhourblues, gave in the most candid fashion, my favorite description of the track below:
We can’t wait to hear what other new material Green has planned to release. For now, it’s seems we will just have to wait patiently.
