Florence + The Machine has just released the official video for “No Light, No Light,” off their religious themed sophomore album, Ceremonials, and this one is…a bit weird. “No Light, No Light” is an upbeat, percussion driven track that deserves a great video, but the visuals for this track are a bit heavy. So heavy, in fact, that it is currently catching heat for being racist. The video is peppered with religious imagery and metaphor, including the pinning of voodoo dolls and an all boys choir, that has caused the video’s comment feed to blow up to more than 7,000 posts, each person offering their own opinion and argument.
