It’s been a long two years since Mumford & Sons released their highly acclaimed album, Sigh No More. After endless touring and a long list of awards, Mumford has finally started working on some new material. “Ghosts That We Knew” is our first preview of that new material, which they performed live in the studio of Philadelphia’s radio station, 104.5 FM. And what is there to say about the song? It is a classic example of that uniquely Mumford & Sons bluegrass/alt/folk sound, with lead singer Marcus Mumford’s emotionally drenched vocals crooning into the microphone over a complex background of banjo, guitar, and accordion. They set the bar pretty high with their previous album and I’m hoping they will be able to overcome expectations going into the next one. Peep the video below!
