[Dubstep] MUST DIE! – Gem Shards

I think I speak for all loyal MUST DIE! minions when I say, September 30th literally couldn’t come soon enough. In the last couple years alone, this producer has steadily progressed from being a promising up-and-comer to bass music’s gold standard. His influence is now so widespread that other aspiring musicians will intentionally replicate his style with the hopes of accumulating the same amount of recognition. Even the likes of Skrillex and Zomboy can’t help but gush incessantly about MUST DIE! when questioned. And who can blame them? There’s not enough minutes in the day for me to sum up all the nice things I’d love to say about this dubstep torchbearer.

The official tracklist and sampler for MUST DIE!’s Death & Magic LP on OWSLA just surfaced yesterday. Click here if you want to get a better idea of what awaits you on the meteoric ten-track collection. In the meantime, three of these forthcoming songs have already been put into circulation by the man himself. My personal favorite is without doubt “Gem Shards.” Clearly Skrillex agreed with me – because he’s been closing out his sets for the last few months with this notoriously savage banger. High-pitched synths are placed opposite of heavy-duty bass, and together they spawn one of the most unruly dubstep tunes to ever enter your cranium. Simply put, you must listen to MUST DIE!.
