Canadian based band Imaginary Cities came to my attention the other day while surfing the internet. At first I didn’t think much of them. But after listening to their music for a couple days now, it has really grown on me. Their debut album, Temporary Resident, has been getting a lot of hype in Canada and was recently nominated for the 2011 Polaris Prize. It’s kind of hard to describe the sound of Imaginary Cities because it is pretty unique. Rusty Matyas and Marti Sarbit make up the group with Marti singing lead vocals and Rusty on guitar. My favorite song is “Ride This Out” which they also shot a music video for. Check it out below. Give the songs a listen and if you like what you hear, you can purchase Temporary Resident here.
